Prosecutors Summarily Indict Former Minister of Health and Welfare Nominee Jeong Ho-young for Violation of the Farmland Act
Jeong Ho-young, the former nominee for Minister of Health and Welfare, who is accused of violating the Farmland Act, has been summarily indicted.
The Anti-Corruption Investigation Division of the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Lee Il-gyu) summarily indicted former Minister of Health and Welfare nominee Jeong Ho-young on the 25th for violating the Farmland Act.
Former nominee Jeong is accused of allowing his relatives to use his farmland free of charge without farming it himself for 24 years.
He was cleared of all other allegations, including obstruction of official duties by deception related to his child's medical school transfer suspicion and his son's violation of the Military Service Act.

Jeong was nominated as the first Minister of Health and Welfare under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, but he voluntarily withdrew from the candidacy in May last year amid various allegations.
