Yun Byeong-tae, Mayor of Naju, Announces Strong Legal Action Against Protests Over Personnel Recruitment
Members of a civic group have been protesting for about a month during commuting hours at the entrance, stairs, and intersection of Naju City Hall, claiming there are issues with the personnel recruitment of the standing executives of the Naju Agricultural Promotion Foundation. In response, Mayor Yoon Byung-tae has announced a strong stance against the "spread of false information."
On the 25th, Yoon Byung-tae, Mayor of Naju, stated in a press release, "I express serious concern and regret over the act of disparaging personnel recruitment conducted through fair standards and transparent procedures as unfair and preferential appointments without any basis," and added, "Stop damaging reputations with false information not based on facts."
He further explained, "In the case of recruiting standing executives of the Naju Agricultural Promotion Foundation, the process was conducted fairly through recommendations by the Foundation's Standing Committee Recommendation Committee according to the standards and procedures specified by the Foundation."
He also said, "When groundless suspicions related to the standing executives arose, the Foundation clarified the facts through explanatory materials on March 3rd," and added, "Nevertheless, if protests spreading false information continue, legal responsibility will be unavoidable."
Additionally, he stated, "We will strictly hold accountable any third parties who disseminate protest-related content not based on facts on public platforms including SNS."
