Dong-Eui University Selected for University Sports Club Support Project for 10 Consecutive Years
The Korea University Sports Federation (KUSF) announced the results of the ‘2023 University Sports Team Evaluation and Support Project’ on the 24th, with Dong-Eui University being finally selected and receiving the largest support of 120 million KRW in the Yeongnam region.
Dong-Eui University has been selected for the project for 10 consecutive years since its inception in 2014, and among the 130 universities nationwide selected this year in the university sports team operation evaluation, it receives the 7th highest amount of support.
The support funds will be used for training expenses, competition participation fees, equipment costs, and improvement of sports environments for six sports teams: badminton, baseball, judo, soccer, taekwondo, and fencing.
Park Moon-su, Director of Sports Promotion at Dong-Eui University, said, “The baseball team, which gained nationwide recognition last year, produced three professional players, and all sports teams achieved remarkable results. Thanks to the efforts of the athletes and coaches, we received a good evaluation,” adding, “We will spare no support so that the athletes can fully concentrate on their training in the best environment and demonstrate their highest capabilities.”

The university sports team support project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean sports by revitalizing university sports teams and supports competitive sports teams at each university. The project is organized by the Korea University Sports Federation and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation.
