The Korean Institute of Architects Donates 100 Million KRW for Emergency Relief Fund for Turkey-Syria Earthquake
The Korea Institute of Registered Architects and 17 city and provincial architectural societies announced on the 25th that they have donated 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross to support relief efforts and recovery for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
The Korea Institute of Registered Architects donated 100 million KRW in emergency relief funds for the earthquake damage in Turkey and Syria to the Korean Red Cross on the 24th.

According to the institute, the donation delivered on the previous day (24th) was raised through a campaign conducted for all members of the institute from the 15th to the 31st of last month, with about 500 members voluntarily participating.
The donation ceremony held at the Seoul office of the Korean Red Cross was attended by Seok Jeong-hoon, president of the institute, representatives of the 17 city and provincial architectural society presidents, Shin Hee-young, president of the Korean Red Cross, and other officials.
Seok Jeong-hoon, president of the Korea Institute of Registered Architects, said, "We hope that the heartfelt sincerity of our members for the victims who lost their homes due to the sudden earthquake will provide a small but warm comfort and help to the people of Turkey and Syria, who are plunged into national grief."
Shin Hee-young, president of the Korean Red Cross, responded, "I deeply thank the architects who are playing a role in relief volunteer activities and helping the victims to recover," adding, "If future social contribution activities involve collaboration with architects, there will be much greater synergy."

Meanwhile, last year, the institute donated 122,749,200 won to Gyeongsangbuk-do and 91,358,000 won to Gangwon-do respectively to support recovery from wildfires in those regions.
