A special exhibition technology utilizing transparent organic light-emitting diode (OLED) will be pilot-installed and operated at the National Museum of Korea.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) announced on the 25th that a transparent OLED demonstration exhibition will begin until October. The exhibition is titled "Eternal Journey, Special Companionship: Pictographic Pottery and Figurine-decorated Pottery."
The display case equipped with a transparent OLED display looks like a regular display case from the outside, but the upper glass functions as a display, explaining the historical significance and background of the artifact to visitors in the form of animation.

On the 18th, MOTIE announced the "Display Industry Innovation Strategy" aiming to reclaim the world No. 1 position, stating that it plans to support about 74 billion KRW over the next five years for prototype production, demonstration, and performance verification as a catalyst for the domestic display industry to create new markets.

This transparent OLED demonstration is the first implementation of this plan. The executing company will integrate display technology with the museum exhibition industry to verify consumer responses regarding display reliability, performance, and content, and identify and improve areas for enhancement.
