Gwangju Dong-gu Selected for 'Safe Village Creation Project' Contest
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that the ‘Dongmyeong-dong Safe Village Creation Project’ was finally selected in the city-led citizen-driven safe village creation project contest.
This project aims to realize a safe community at the village level based on a resident council by investigating and analyzing risk factors within the village and resolving them.
To this end, Dongmyeong-dong formed the ‘Dongmyeong Safe Village Network Council’ consisting of 10 autonomous organizations including the Residents’ Autonomy Committee, the Community Social Security Council, and the Volunteer Disaster Prevention Group, presenting concrete plans such as ▲ operating a Safety Keeper Practice Team ▲ running a Safe Village School ▲ producing safety maps for vulnerable areas, which received high evaluations.
