Imsil-gun Promotes Tourist Attractions Including Okjeongho at K-Festival Participation
Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 24th that it is participating in the ‘9th Korea Festival & Travel Expo, K-Festival 2023’ held at Seoul Plaza until the 26th to promote Imsil’s tourism resources.
Hosted by Dong-A Ilbo, Channel A, and Dongin Exhibition, and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and Korea Tourism Organization, ‘K-Festival 2023’ features participation from 23 domestic cities and provinces, local governments, and festival-related organizations. The expo is organized into four promotional zones: Festival Policy Hall, Regional Festival Hall, Festival Experience Hall, and Travel Market.

Visitors to the event can not only gather information about domestic festivals that they do not usually encounter frequently at a glance, but also enjoy various events such as festival stage performances by local governments and festival-related organizations, online and on-site visit events, and travel information talk concerts.
In line with the increasing domestic travel demand following the transition to post-pandemic daily life recovery, the county operates a booth at this expo to promote Imsil tourism nationwide.
Focusing on the Imsil N Cheese Festival, Jeollabuk-do’s representative festival held from October 6 to 9, the county plans to intensively promote the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge and Bungeo Island, which officially opened in March this year.
To this end, the county will distribute Imsil-gun tourism guidebooks and maps, leaflets about the Cheese Festival, Okjeongho Trail, and Bungeo Island Ecological Park to provide information on Imsil tourism. Additionally, various promotional events such as a dart roulette game will be held, offering Imsil’s specialty cheese as a gift.
Deputy County Governor Lee Min-sook said, “This expo is a very good opportunity to promote Imsil’s beautiful tourism resources nationwide, including the Imsil Cheese Festival, the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge and Bungeo Island Ecological Park officially opened this March, and Saseondae.”
She added, “Based on the county’s excellent tourism resources, we will analyze the rapidly changing domestic tourism trends and plan promotional strategies accordingly to capture the increasing domestic travel demand.”
Meanwhile, the county has set this year’s administrative slogan as ‘Opening the Era of Ten Million Tourists in Imsil’ and is promoting various incentive supports and marketing efforts. From July to August, the Aqua Festival, in October the Imsil N Cheese Festival, and in December the Imsil Santa Festival are being actively promoted to ensure the success of seasonal festivals with full administrative support.
