Kyowon Life Unveils 'Kyowon Yeoum,' a Funeral Brand with Enhanced Quality
Life care service specialist Kyowon Life announced on the 24th that it is launching a premium funeral brand, ‘Kyowon Yeoum,’ and strengthening its funeral business.
Yeoum is a name combining the Hanja character ‘Ye (禮),’ meaning etiquette and respect, and the pure Korean word ‘Um,’ meaning sprout. It signifies sincerely honoring the deceased with care and respect, conveying heartfelt mourning, condolence, and comfort to the bereaved, and wishing for peaceful daily life to sprout anew.
Kyowon Life is conducting a brand integration by changing everything from the signage and exterior of its directly operated funeral halls located in seven regions nationwide including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungnam, and Gyeongnam, to employee uniforms, funeral supplies, and interior design. By unifying and renewing the brand with a new BI, it is expected to enhance employees’ sense of belonging and cohesion internally, and increase brand awareness externally.
Since entering the funeral business with the acquisition of Pyeongtaek Funeral Hall in 2017, Kyowon Life has nurtured the funeral business as a core operation by additionally acquiring and operating funeral halls in Hwaseong, Asan, Gimhae, and Seoul. Last year, it further strengthened competitiveness by carrying out facility improvement projects such as expansion and remodeling of funeral halls. In the case of ‘Kyowon Yeoum Pyeongtaek Funeral Hall,’ the number of funeral rooms was expanded from six to nine through an extension, and the funeral environment was improved through exterior remodeling. ‘Kyowon Yeoum West Seoul Funeral Hall’ was also remodeled to add one funeral room and newly refurbished the building’s exterior. Efforts to increase customer trust and satisfaction, such as standardizing funeral services and directly managing restaurants, have continuously raised the standards of premium funeral services.
Kyowon Life plans to actively expand its business this year by considering the acquisition of specialized funeral halls and leasing and consignment operation of hospital funeral halls. It will also newly introduce online memorial services and platforms connecting the bereaved and visitors, and promote advanced food and beverage quality management and the development of signature funeral products.
