50-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Trapped Under 2t Steel Structure at Yangsan Factory
At around 3 p.m. on the 20th, a man in his 50s died after being trapped under a steel structure at a machine manufacturing factory for aggregate screening in Eogok-dong, Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Yangsan Police Station on the 23rd, a 2-ton steel structure connected to the hook of an overhead crane fell sideways and struck Mr. A.
Mr. A, whose lower body was trapped under the structure during surface grinding work on the structure, was transported to a hospital where he later died while receiving treatment.
The workplace where the accident occurred is known to have fewer than 50 regular employees and is therefore not subject to the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
