On this day, the Ministry of National Defense announced through the 'Military Drug Management Improvement Plan' that drug tests will be added to physical examinations conducted for enlisted soldiers and active-duty personnel. For active-duty personnel, drug tests will be added to urine test items during health checkups. For officers, drug tests will be conducted on all prospective officers and long-term service applicants, starting as early as the second half of the year.

The confirmation tests for opioids and cannabis detect substances such as amphetamine (AMP), methamphetamine (METH), and morphine (MOR) in urine samples to diagnose drug confirmation status.
