"Stop Foot-and-Mouth Disease" ... Goseong-gun Implements Emergency Vaccination Campaign
Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, recently ordered emergency vaccinations for cattle, pigs, and goats farms within the region to block the inflow of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) that occurred in livestock farms in Cheongju and Jeungpyeong-gun, Chungbuk Province.
Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting emergency vaccinations for farms raising cattle, pigs, and goats to prevent foot-and-mouth disease.

According to this additional vaccination order, pig farms in the region have completed the vaccination, and since many cattle and goat farms received the mass vaccination in the first half of the year, vaccinations will be carried out sequentially starting from farms where three weeks have passed since vaccination.
In addition to the additional vaccinations, the county is promoting efforts to ensure that livestock farms do their best in quarantine measures to prevent the spread of FMD, and is strengthening disinfection activities by the joint quarantine team operated for epidemic prevention during normal times.
Choi Kyung-rak, Director of the Livestock Division, said, “To prevent the occurrence of FMD, maintaining a high level of FMD antibodies through vaccination is the most important. We ask for active participation in the additional FMD vaccinations. We will do our best to maintain a FMD-free Goseong-gun.”
