President Yoon Suk-yeol said on the 22nd, "The EU is our third-largest trading partner and the number one investor partner in Korea," adding, "Cooperation between Korea and the EU continues to expand into global agendas such as advanced technology, global security, and climate."
On the same day, President Yoon held a summit at the Yongsan Presidential Office with Charles Michel, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, emphasizing the will to cooperate between Korea and the EU by stating, "The European Union (EU) is a valuable partner that shares universal values of freedom, human rights, and the rule of law."

Regarding the visit of EU leaders for the first time in 11 years, President Yoon evaluated it as "a clear demonstration of the EU's commitment to strengthening the partnership with Korea," and said, "I pay tribute to both of you for confirming the EU's solidarity on Russia's invasion of Ukraine and for leading the EU's united support."
The cooperation areas between Korea and the EU were also mentioned. President Yoon explained, "Cooperation between Korea and the EU continues to expand into global agendas such as advanced technology, global security, and climate," adding, "Since establishing a strategic partnership in 2010, we have been strengthening practical cooperation."
President Michel also stated, "Bilateral cooperation can be further expanded to suit the digital age," elaborating, "The three major agreements?the Framework Agreement, the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and the agreement related to crisis management participation?provide a solid foundation."

President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission said, "I believe this will be an opportunity to strengthen our relationship in the green, health, and digital sectors."
