Japanese Firefighter Caught Having 'Habitual Sexual Relations' During Duty at Fire Station
'2-Month Suspension for Honesty' Disciplinary Action
In Japan, a male and female firefighter were caught having habitual sexual relations during working hours.
According to Yomiuri Shimbun and others on the 20th, a 30-year-old male fire sergeant and a 25-year-old female firefighter from Hyogo Prefecture were disciplined with a two-month suspension. They were caught having habitual sexual relations in places such as the fire station restroom during working hours. The female firefighter announced her intention to resign simultaneously with the disciplinary action. Additionally, two superiors were severely warned for failing to properly manage and supervise them.
The two were found to have secretly met and had sexual relations 1 to 3 times a month during overtime hours since July last year, in places such as the women's sleeping room, men's restroom, and fitness room.
The Ashiya City Fire Department received reports from some employees in February that "there are rumors that the two engage in sexual acts during work," and directly summoned and investigated them. At first, the two denied the sexual relations, but eventually admitted, "We became close while consulting about personal matters and had sexual relations 1 to 3 times a month," adding, "We feel sorry and deeply reflect on our actions."
