The civic group Committee for the Protection of Ordinary People's Livelihoods accused lawmaker Kim of neglecting his duties by trading cryptocurrency during National Assembly hearings and standing committee meetings, yet the National Assembly Ethics Special Committee was not activated. They filed a complaint against Speaker Kim on the 16th at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office for dereliction of duty and violation of the National Assembly Act.
