Former President Roh Moo-hyun 14th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony... Moon Attends
Held at Bongha Village at 2 PM on the 23rd
Ruling and opposition leaders, Prime Minister Han Deok-su, and political figures gather
The 14th anniversary memorial service for the late former President Roh Moo-hyun will be held at 2 p.m. on the 23rd at the special stage in the Ecological Culture Park of Bongha Village, Jinyeong-eup, Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, the memorial service will be attended by the late President Roh’s wife Kwon Yang-sook, their son Roh Gun-ho, and other bereaved family members, former President Moon Jae-in and his wife Kim Jung-sook, People Power Party leader Kim Ki-hyun, Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, Justice Party leader Lee Jeong-mi, among others.
From the Presidential Office, Lee Jin-bok, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, will attend. From metropolitan local governments, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon, Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung, Gyeongsangnam-do Governor Park Wan-su, Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok, and Jeollabuk-do Governor Kim Kwan-young will attend. From the Democratic Party, floor leader Park Kwang-on and other party leaders and lawmakers will participate.
Former chairpersons of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation Han Myeong-sook, Lee Hae-chan, Lee Byung-wan, Yoo Si-min, as well as foundation executives including Do Jong-hwan, Lee Jae-jung, Jeon Hae-cheol, and Jung Young-ae, former ministers of the Participatory Government such as Jang Ha-jin, and Kim Hong-gul, a lawmaker representing the bereaved family of former President Kim Dae-jung, will also attend.
The theme of the memorial service is "History is slow, but it progresses." Announcer Kim Yeo-jin will host the event. Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and former Cultural Heritage Administration Commissioner Yoo Hong-jun will deliver memorial speeches. There will also be a time when 18 citizens share stories they wanted to tell the late President Roh. The memorial performance will be given by popera singer Han Ga-young.
After the memorial service, the bereaved family, former President Moon, Roh Moo-hyun Foundation Chairman Chung Sye-kyun, the Speaker of the National Assembly, and the Prime Minister will pay respects at the late President Roh’s burial site, followed by citizens paying their respects.

The memorial service will be broadcast live on the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation’s YouTube channel. On the same day, the Roh Moo-hyun Citizen Center in Seoul will live broadcast the memorial service on a screen in the first-floor lobby for citizens who cannot visit Bongha Village.
