Geumcheon Tax Office to Transform into a 6-Story Building... Scheduled for Completion in 2026
On the 17th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the 7th Urban Planning Committee meeting and conditionally approved the urban planning facility (public office) decision for the construction of Geumcheon Tax Office at 953-9 Doksan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, it announced on the 18th.
The Geumcheon Tax Office is a building over 30 years old, completed in 1987, with four floors above ground. Due to facility aging and limited office space, it has been renting nearby buildings separately, causing inconvenience to residents visiting the tax office.
The newly established Geumcheon Tax Office will be constructed with three basement floors and six floors above ground. A publicly accessible open space will be created at the front of the building as a resting area for residents, enhancing user convenience. Additionally, the expansion of main and side pedestrian pathways is expected to improve accessibility for residents.
Furthermore, vehicle access is planned from the northern road side, Siheung-daero, towards Nambusunhwan-ro, while a pedestrian entrance is planned on Siheung-ro 152-gil, a southern side road with heavy pedestrian traffic. By separating vehicle and pedestrian entrances considering the terrain, pedestrian safety will also be improved. The public office parking lot will be open free of charge to the general public during working hours, which is expected to significantly improve the local parking environment.
The detailed plan for the publicly accessible open space, a resting area for citizens, and other architectural plans will be thoroughly reviewed during the architectural review process. With the reconstruction of the Geumcheon Tax Office, the urban landscape will be enhanced, and citizens using the tax office will be able to conveniently access administrative services in a pleasant environment.
