Netizens have mixed reactions to a Chinese job advertisement offering about 27 million won per month for a 'housemaid.'
According to the Hong Kong South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 17th, an agent from a domestic service company headquartered in Shanghai recently posted such a job advertisement.

View original imageThe ad seeks a nanny to dress and undress a woman living in Shanghai. The monthly salary is a whopping 140,000 yuan (about 26.73 million won), more than 10 times the average monthly salary in Shanghai of 11,396 yuan (about 2.17 million won).
The duties include not only routine household chores but also serving like a personal attendant?putting on shoes when the person stretches out their feet, removing clothes when the shoulder is shaken, and so on. The nanny must wait by the door 10 minutes before the person arrives home to help remove shoes, wash and massage feet, and prepare drinks and snacks as needed.
The advertisement specifies that they are looking for a perceptive and humble personal nanny who is willing to kneel and serve like an 'ancient maid.'
The application requirements are strict. According to the ad, applicants must be "at least 165 cm tall, weigh less than 55 kg, have at least a middle school education, possess a decent appearance, and be able to sing and dance well."
The working hours are two shifts of 12 hours each per day.
Most netizens who saw the news criticized the advertiser as abnormal. One netizen commented, "The person looking for a maid seems to be living in a time before the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949."
