Daum News, Revamped with Real-Time Communication Method
Naver and Kakao will revamp their news comment services starting next month.
On the 17th, Naver announced changes to its comment board operation policy, effective from the 1st of next month, which include strengthening profile information in comment collections and adding a quiz-solving procedure when lifting comment usage restrictions.
Users whose comment usage is restricted according to the operation regulations will have this status displayed on their profiles.
Depending on the duration of the comment usage restriction, an additional procedure requiring users to solve a quiz may be imposed when lifting the restriction. Failure to complete this procedure may result in an extension of the restriction period.
Kakao will introduce a comment service focused on real-time communication on the portal Daum starting in June. Instead of the existing bulletin board-style comment space, the system will be revamped to allow real-time comment interaction similar to KakaoTalk chat rooms.
