Gyeonggi Fire Department Hosts 'CPR Competition' with 224 Participants from 42 Teams

View original imageThe Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters held a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) competition for students, general citizens, and foreigners.
On the 16th, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 17th that it held the "12th Gyeonggi-do Residents CPR Competition" at the Gyeonggi Human Resources Development Institute in Jangan-gu, Suwon, with 42 teams and 224 participants composed of students, general citizens, and foreigners.
The competition was organized to increase residents' participation and promote the necessity of CPR as the importance of CPR continues to grow.
Notably, this competition was made more meaningful by the participation of nine teams composed of foreigners for the first time nationwide.
Participants expressed cardiac arrest situations and CPR response actions in the form of short plays lasting eight minutes.
The winners by category were ▲ Student and Youth Division: "Deokyoung Jikimi" (Yongin Deokyoung High School) ▲ University and General Division: "Dugeundugeun" (Anseong Doowon Technical College) ▲ Foreigners Division: "Simkung China" (Siheung Multicultural Family Center).
The two teams that won the grand prize in the student and general divisions will represent Gyeonggi-do at the "12th National General Public CPR Competition" to be held next month in Sejong City.

Cho Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, promised, "We will continue to provide CPR education to create a safer Gyeonggi-do and Republic of Korea."
