Incheon Airport Corporation Holds '2023 Incheon Airport Museum Special Exhibition'
Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 17th that it will present the '2023 Incheon Airport Museum Special Exhibition,' themed around Baekje patterned bricks and late Joseon wooden furniture, in collaboration with the National Museum of Korea.
On the 16th, the corporation held the opening ceremony of the special exhibition at the Incheon Airport Museum located in the boarding area of Terminal 1 at Incheon Airport. About 50 officials from various institutions attended the event, including Ryu Jin-hyung, Head of Operations at Incheon International Airport Corporation, Lee Su-mi, Curator of the National Museum of Korea, and Yoon Hyung-won, Director of the National Buyeo Museum.
This new exhibition consists of two planned exhibitions: 'Baekje Masterpieces, Baekje Patterned Bricks,' showcasing the Baekje patterned brick collection from the National Buyeo Museum, and 'Jeoni: Korean Furniture,' exhibiting late Joseon wooden furniture from the Incheon Airport Museum's collection.

View original imageThe 'Baekje Masterpieces, Baekje Patterned Bricks' exhibition is held in the inner exhibition hall of the museum. It features eight authentic Baekje patterned bricks, estimated to be about 1,400 years old, which are representative pieces from the National Buyeo Museum.
The 'Jeoni: Korean Furniture' exhibition, held in the entrance exhibition lounge of the museum, is the first self-planned exhibition presented by the corporation since the opening of the Incheon Airport Museum in June 2021. Under the theme of 'Harmony between Traditional and Modern Culture,' it displays 10 pieces of late Joseon wooden furniture owned by the corporation alongside 12 pieces of modern wooden furniture that reinterpret tradition in a contemporary way.
This exhibition will run until March next year. Anyone, including passengers using the boarding area of Terminal 1 at Incheon Airport, can view it free of charge.

Lee Hee-jung, Acting President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, "Through this special museum exhibition, we expect to promote the excellence of Korean traditional culture to foreign travelers using Incheon Airport," adding, "We plan to continue showcasing the beauty of Korean culture to the world through various special exhibitions at Incheon Airport, the gateway to the Republic of Korea."
