A festival venue where residents and merchants enjoy together under the theme of ‘Starlight Oasis’
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Junhee) will hold the ‘Sillim-dong Starlight Street Festival - Starlight Oasis’ from the 26th to the 27th along Sillim-dong Street.
The ‘Sillim-dong Starlight Street Festival,’ held for the first time this year, was prepared to revitalize the depressed alley commercial district, increase sales of small business owners, and thereby activate the local economy.
The festival will take place at Sillim-dong Starlight Street (the street area in front of Sillim-dong Community Center) and is themed around an ‘Oasis,’ meaning a water pond in the middle of a desert, featuring plenty of attractions such as ▲Starlight Pocha ▲Starlight Vacation ▲Starlight Playground.
There will be ‘Starlight Pocha,’ a food booth directly operated and sold by merchants, and ‘Starlight Vacation,’ a resident resting area with a resort atmosphere featuring lighting, palm trees, air beds, and grass mats.
At the ‘Starlight Playground,’ busking performances including band, dance, and popera by Gwanak-gu youth art clubs will be held, along with a flea market.
Additionally, there will be a starlight karaoke, chalk art experience where the road is used as a canvas for drawing, and making art hanji lampshades to create lasting memories.
Along the 360-meter section of Sillim-dong Street where the festival is held, landscape lighting will be installed and a starlight-themed photo zone will be set up to brighten the festival. Various events and prizes such as receipt reviews, lucky roulette, and electronic darts will be prepared for customers using the commercial district.
The ‘Sillim-dong Starlight Street Festival’ will be held from 5 PM to 9 PM, and vehicle traffic will be completely restricted from noon to 11 PM for preparation and other reasons.
