Cheonan·Asan Small Giant Special Zone Annual Evaluation 'Best Excellence'
The Cheonan·Asan Small Giant Special Zone received the highest rating in the ‘2022 Small Giant Special Zone Annual Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
According to Chungnam Province on the 15th, the Ministry of Science and ICT conducts an annual evaluation reflecting the special zone’s business performance, satisfaction of special zone members, and the contribution of local governments to the development of the special zone.
In the evaluation, the Cheonan·Asan Small Giant Special Zone received high scores (exceeding the standard) in all evaluation indicators, including technology transfers and investments (33 cases), establishment of research institute companies (9 cases), new startups (14 cases), sales of fostered companies (18.6 billion KRW), job creation (175 employees), and investment linkage of 3.5 billion KRW.
In particular, the large and medium-sized enterprise linkage program of the Cheonan·Asan Small Giant Special Zone connected fostered companies’ technologies with medium-sized enterprises as demand sources, enabling fostered companies to secure factory facilities and personnel for investment attraction and mass production of products.
Additionally, to establish a foundation for global expansion support, a global collaboration network was built with global expansion specialized accelerators (AC) and specialized support organizations, and specialized programs for global expansion were operated, creating excellent cases supporting global expansion to countries such as Singapore and Vietnam.
Furthermore, Chungnam Province explained that the establishment and operation of the Chungnam Science and Technology Investment Council and the Future Automobile Investment Review Council, building a specialized network centered on the Small Giant Special Zone, also contributed significantly to the high evaluation.
