Gochang-gun Opens 'Sin Jae-hyo Pansori Park' with 3.25 Billion Won Investment

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 15th that it held the opening ceremony of the Pansori training and experience facility, ‘Sin Jae-hyo Pansori Park,’ on the 14th.

About 500 people, including County Governor Shim Deok-seop, Gochang County Council Chairman Im Jeong-ho, council members, officials, and residents attended the event.

The opening ceremony proceeded with a progress report, commemorative speeches, congratulatory speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and celebratory performances.

The event was hosted by Kim Ji-seon (a comedian from Gochang) and comedian Jung Joon-ha. Celebratory performances were presented by master singers Kim Il-gu, Shin Young-hee, Wang Gi-seok, Jeonju Daesaseupcheong, and singer Yu Ji-na.

Sin Jae-hyo Pansori Park was constructed over three years with a total project cost of 3.25 billion KRW and consists of three hanok buildings with a total floor area of 614㎡.

As an experiential complex cultural space for all generations, the three hanok buildings are used as spaces for Pansori education and experience.

In celebration of this year’s ‘Year of Visiting Gochang, a World Heritage City,’ various programs such as ‘Pansori Busking,’ ‘2023 Master Singer Invitation Pansori Academy,’ and ‘Pansori Experience Performances’ are being held.

Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “Sin Jae-hyo Pansori Park is an open space where everyone can participate, and we will strive to make it a high-quality cultural and artistic space where anyone can experience and learn Pansori.”
