[Featured Stock] Ecopro Declines Amid Adverse News Including Chairman Dongchae Lee's Detention
EcoPro is on a downward trend following a series of negative events, including the arrest of former chairman Lee Dong-chae and the failure to be included in the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) index.
As of 9:42 AM on the 15th, EcoPro is trading at 511,000 KRW, down 6.07% (33,000 KRW) compared to the previous day.
Former chairman Lee was sentenced to two years in prison and taken into custody for violating the Act on Capital Market and Financial Investment Business (Capital Markets Act). The prosecution plans to investigate EcoPro Group and related executives and employees for allegations of stock price manipulation.
Meanwhile, inclusion in the MSCI Korea Index was also canceled. It is interpreted that the rapid surge in stock price over a short period influenced this decision. The consecutive negative factors have led to a contraction in investor sentiment.
The securities industry has issued negative evaluations on EcoPro Group stocks. Last month, Hana Securities downgraded its investment opinion on EcoPro stock from 'Buy' to 'Sell,' citing short-term overheating.
