Kumho P&B Chemicals Obtains International Eco-Friendly Certification for 5 Products
Kumho P&B Chemicals announced on the 15th that five of its products?cumene, acetone, phenol, bisphenol A, and epoxy?have obtained the international eco-friendly certification ISCC PLUS.
The ISCC PLUS certification is an international certification system granted by verifying the sustainability of the entire product manufacturing process in accordance with the European Union Renewable Energy Directive. ISCC is recognized as a highly reliable institution in the eco-friendly certification field due to its transparent evaluation criteria and rigorous certification procedures.
Through this certification, Kumho P&B Chemicals has established a foundation to convert the existing raw material benzene used in phenol derivatives such as phenol, bisphenol A, epoxy, as well as cumene and acetone, into a low-carbon series. Benzene will be procured in a way that achieves a circular economy, including pyrolysis treatment of waste plastics.
Kumho P&B Chemicals expects to create a carbon emission reduction effect at the supply chain level with its clients by gradually expanding the supply of ISCC PLUS certified products using recycled benzene starting from the third quarter.
