Court Denies Kim Man-bae's Bail Request... Detention Continues
Charges Including Evidence Concealment and Obstruction of Justice
On the 12th, the court dismissed the bail request of Kim Man-bae, the 'Daejang-dong team lobbyist.'
Kim was released last November due to the expiration of his detention period but was re-arrested in February this year on charges of concealing criminal proceeds.
Kim is accused of instructing a schoolmate to hide checks worth approximately 14.2 billion won in December last year in preparation for seizure preservation (obstruction of evidence), and of ordering interior contractor Kim to smash his mobile phone containing evidence with a hammer and then burn it in September 2021 (obstruction of evidence), among other charges.
