Kick-off Meeting Held on the 11th
Gumi City, Gyeongbuk Province (Mayor Kim Jang-ho) held a kickoff meeting on the 11th in the situation room on the 3rd floor of City Hall to establish a smart city plan aimed at creating a sustainable city that improves the quality of life for its citizens.

View original imageA smart city refers to an advanced city that solves various urban issues related to transportation, safety, environment, and housing by utilizing information and communication technology (ICT). Systematic planning is essential for the establishment of a smart city.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor Kim Ho-seop, about 10 advisory group members consisting of smart city experts, and 25 staff members from the smart city working group (practical promotion team). The meeting included presentations on the direction of the smart city plan and detailed step-by-step implementation plans, while gathering diverse opinions from the advisory group and working group to establish a feasible plan.
Through this project, Gumi City will set the basic direction, phased promotion strategies, vision, and goals for a Gumi-specialized smart city and develop a mid- to long-term plan to discover various facilities and services, including the creation of a new airport hinterland complex.
Additionally, the city will prepare the organizational system and operational standards necessary for smart city development. Through organic cooperation with experts and related departments via public official interviews, expert consultations, and citizen living labs, a citizen-friendly smart city implementation plan will be established.
