On the 12th, the Korean Intellectual Property Office held the '58th Inventors' Day' ceremony at the COEX Auditorium in Seoul. Under the slogan "With free imagination, dreaming of the future," the ceremony included a government awards ceremony and certificate presentation for 80 inventors who contributed to invention. At the ceremony, Seongguk Lee, a senior researcher at LG Innotek Co., Ltd., was selected as the 'Inventor of the Year,' and the highest honor, the Gold Tower Industrial Order of Merit, was awarded to Taemoon Noh, president of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
