Devsisters Reports Q1 Revenue of 50.3 Billion KRW and Operating Loss of 5 Billion KRW
DevSisters recorded an operating loss in the first quarter of 2023, continuing from the previous quarter.
On the 11th, DevSisters announced that it posted sales of 50.3 billion KRW and an operating loss of 5 billion KRW in the first quarter of this year. Sales decreased by 17.1% compared to the same period last year. The net loss for the period was 3.4 billion KRW. The scale of the operating loss was reduced due to the elimination of one-time costs such as marketing and settlement expenses, as well as the efficiency of expenditure.
DevSisters plans to secure market competitiveness and expand sales momentum by targeting overseas markets based on the global influence of the Cookie Run intellectual property (IP), while strengthening its new IP lineup.
'Cookie Run: Kingdom' obtained a foreign-invested game license in China last March and is entering the Chinese market through joint publishing by Chinese game companies Changyou and Tencent Games. Following the start of local pre-registration in China on the 28th of last month, participant recruitment for the first test in China began on the 5th.
The new title 'Brick City' is also preparing for a global official release within the year. Brick City, a sandbox-style mobile game, features a unique worldview of purifying the Earth and a highly immersive play environment with high freedom to create using bricks.
Additionally, DevSisters is focusing on expanding the Cookie Run IP into new areas. They are accelerating new projects based on the Cookie Run IP, such as the physical card-type TCG (trading card game) 'Cookie Run: Bravers,' scheduled for domestic release in September, and the Cookie Run VR adventure game 'Project Q,' planned for release next year.
