Suncheon-si, Recruiting Participants for 100 Million Steps Walking Donation Campaign
1000 People First-Come, First-Served Registration at Ocheon Green Plaza
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) will invite 1,000 citizens to participate in a walking donation event at 3 PM on the 22nd at Ocheon Green Square to celebrate reaching 100 million steps with the "100 Million Steps Achievement Commemorative Walking Donation Campaign."
The event will proceed in the order of stretching exercises, walking together on the Earthing Trail (2.5 km), delivering congratulatory messages for achieving 100 million steps and health recovery, and donation handover.
Citizens who wish to participate on-site can apply via Naver Form by the 21st, with registration limited to the first 1,000 applicants. Participating citizens will receive a walking donation certificate through the WalkOn walking app (Suncheon City’s official community).
This campaign is a citizen walking movement where, once 100 million healthy steps are achieved monthly with the participation of Suncheon citizens, 2 million KRW in medical expenses are donated to medically vulnerable groups such as cancer patients and those with rare and intractable diseases, providing hope and support to overcome difficult challenges.
The May donation of 2 million KRW was sponsored by Haiden Dental Clinic (Director Kang In-seong), which provides oral health care services to citizens in Jorye-dong.
A Suncheon City official said, “We hope families will participate together in the May Family Month walking donation campaign, enjoying Ocheon Green Square to the fullest while taking care of their health through walking and donating.”
