Ministry of Health and Welfare Publishes Revised Edition of '2023 Welfare Services That Empower Me' Guidebook
On the 11th, the Ministry of Health and Welfare revised and published the guidebook "2023 Welfare Services That Empower Me" to help easily understand over 460 welfare services scattered across multiple ministries.
The guidebook (total 413 pages) contains welfare service information from all ministries so that individuals can identify the welfare services they need according to their circumstances. It allows users to find necessary services based on situations such as experiencing difficulties due to unemployment, needing help with child care, requiring after-school care, or suffering from hard-to-treat diseases. Indexes by service life cycle, target characteristics, and alphabetical order are also provided to facilitate easy recognition of welfare services.
Based on over 460 types of welfare projects from all ministries, the guidebook also includes newly introduced and modified projects for this year. Major new projects added this year include the pilot project for emergency care for people with developmental disabilities (Ministry of Health and Welfare), parental allowance (Ministry of Health and Welfare), child-rearing support for adolescent parents (Ministry of Gender Equality and Family), April 19 Revolution merit allowance (Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs), livelihood support fund (Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs), and advanced industry digital core workforce training (Ministry of Employment and Labor).

The Ministry of Health and Welfare plans to distribute approximately 170,000 copies of the guidebook to over 8,000 institutions nationwide, including Eup, Myeon, and Dong administrative welfare centers (community centers), so that more citizens can easily learn about and use the social security system. The guidebook will also be posted on the websites of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Social Security Committee, and Bokjiro.
