Dongjak-gu Officially Begins Development of Namseong Station Area…‘Dongjak-gu Style Urban Development’ Gains Momentum
Selected as Second Station Area Revitalization Project Site Following Sindaebangsamgeori Station
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Ilha) announced on the 9th that the area around Namseong Station (Sadang-ro 17-gil 31) has been selected as a Seoul Metropolitan Government station area revitalization project site.
The station area of Namseong Station on Subway Line 7 is a region densely populated with low-rise and aging residential buildings. It is one of the pilot sites for the ‘Dongjak-gu Style Maintenance Project,’ which aims to shorten the usual 13 years from district designation to construction start in redevelopment projects to within 4 years.
Accordingly, the district proposed a suitable station area revitalization development method to local residents and applied to Seoul City for project site selection earlier this month.
With this selection, a project plan (draft) including zoning upgrades and the construction of ultra-high-rise residential-commercial complex buildings over 30 floors in the Namseong Station area will be developed together with local residents.
As a result, the northern station area around Namseong Station is expected to be transformed through the station area revitalization project into a mixed-use hub combining residential, office, and commercial functions with workplaces and rest areas, establishing itself as a landmark in the southwestern region.
Dongjak-gu plans to hold a ‘Namseong Station Area Revitalization Project Resident Briefing Session’ at 7 p.m. on the 17th at the Sadang Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.
