Gwanak-gu Bus Stops to Get 'Smart Complex Shelters'
Providing convenience features such as heating and cooling for public transportation users, with blood pressure measurement also available
Offering resident-centered smart services utilizing smart technology
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is promoting a project to build ‘Smart Complex Shelters’ closely connected to daily life using smart technology.
The district secured 600 million KRW in national funds through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s ‘2022 Second Half Regional Issue Demand Special Grant’ for the Smart Complex Shelter construction project, and plans to invest an additional 143 million KRW from district funds to install four locations by the end of this year.
The ‘Smart Complex Shelter’ is a booth-type space utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT), installed around bus stops so that any resident using public transportation can easily enter and use the facility.
It provides various convenience features including heating and cooling functions, air purification, bus arrival information, and Wi-Fi. Additionally, CCTV and emergency bells linked to the integrated control center will be installed to ensure that residents, including public transportation users, can safely use the shelter.
In particular, a 75-inch kiosk will be installed, allowing users to access ‘Smart Healthcare (contactless health measurement)’ services that measure blood pressure and stress levels through facial recognition.
The district plans to install these shelters at four locations with high foot traffic and wide sidewalks that do not obstruct passage: ▲Bongcheon Intersection (toward Nakseongdae-dong) ▲In front of Yangji Hospital ▲Nakseongdae Park ▲In front of Seoul National University Main Gate.
