Teenagers Cause Traffic Accident After Stealing and Speeding in Rental Car
Teenagers who stole a rental car in the middle of the night and caused a collision were caught by the police.
The Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station announced on the 10th that three middle school students, including A, were booked without detention on charges of special theft and unlicensed driving (violation of the Road Traffic Act).
A and the others stole two passenger cars with keys kept inside from a rental car company's parking lot in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, around 2 a.m. the previous day.
They drove the stolen cars racing through the streets of downtown Gwangju until dawn.
They caused a collision once and fled, but were caught by the police around 9 a.m. the same day on the streets of Wolgye-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju.
Among the three caught, two are juvenile offenders under the age of 14 who are not subject to criminal punishment.

The police plan to transfer the remaining 14-year-old to the prosecution once the investigation is completed.
