The 69th Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival, "Bang~Par" on the 11th in Seongnam
The 69th Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival will kick off with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. on the 11th at the main stadium of Seongnam Sports Complex, launching a three-day competition through the 13th.
Under the slogan "Better Games, Hope in Seongnam," this event features 7,486 athletes from 31 cities and counties across the province competing in 25 sports including athletics, swimming, soccer, and tennis.
Seongnam City, celebrating the 50th anniversary of its city status, aims for the overall championship in this tournament. A total of 478 team members are participating, including 338 athletes and 140 officials across all 25 sports.
Following the ceremony, a congratulatory performance by popular trot singer Song Ga-in will be held, followed by an ambitious drone light show prepared by Seongnam City for this event.
The drone light show will feature around 200 drones illuminating the night sky of Seongnam to express "Seongnam, a city of hope through advanced technology and innovation."
To facilitate visitors attending the opening ceremony, Seongnam City has secured four key parking lots and, with sponsorship from the NongHyup Central Association, will operate 12 shuttle buses.
The shuttle buses will run every 20 minutes from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 11th from three key parking lots: Moranda Public Parking Lot, Tancheon Sports Complex, and Seongnam Arts Center.
The key parking lot at 1 Hadaewon-dong, Jungwon-gu, Seongnam City is close to the opening ceremony venue, so shuttle buses will not operate there.
