Kim Nam-guk "Distorted Reports Continue... Request for Fact-Finding Investigation Including External Experts"
Kim Nam-guk, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea at the center of the "6 billion coin" controversy, has requested a fact-finding investigation including external experts, stating that absurdly distorted reports continue to be made.
On the 10th, Kim posted on his social media service (SNS), "I request a stronger and more thorough fact-finding investigation including external experts," and raised his voice, saying, "I will accept all the investigation teams and verification methods formed by the party."
His request for a fact-finding investigation including "external experts" appears to be a response to the continuous media reports. Kim revealed that he purchased WEMIX coins with the proceeds from stock sales, but according to a JTBC report the previous day, the coin he bought with the stock sale was not WEMIX but "BitTorrent."
Kim said, "Because absurdly distorted and suspicious reports continue, I believe a more thorough and stronger verification is necessary," and "I earnestly request the formation of a fact-finding investigation team including external experts. I will actively participate in a more intensive fact-finding investigation."

Kim's request for an "external expert" investigation draws more attention as it came just one day after he apologized via SNS and said he would "actively participate in the party's investigation." The day before, he posted on SNS, "I am sorry for causing concern to the public over the past few days. Amid the livelihood crisis, I failed to show the public the image of a public official that meets their expectations. I sincerely apologize," and added, "I will actively participate in the party's investigation, and if there are any additional materials requested, I will faithfully submit them."
