Incheon TP Selected as 'Future Vehicle Transition Support Platform'... Strengthening Technology Base of Parts Industry
Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) announced on the 10th that it has been selected as a 'Future Vehicle Transition Support Platform (Joint Research and Development Institution)' to lead the transition of automobile parts companies to future vehicles through a public contest by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Korea Automotive Technology Institute).
Along with Incheon TP, eight institutions nationwide selected in this contest, including Gyeonggi TP, Ulsan TP, Chungbuk TP, Jeonnam Automotive Research Institute, Chungnam TP, Gwangju Green Car Promotion Agency, and Daegu Intelligent Automotive Parts Promotion Agency, will each receive 1.6 billion KRW in national funding.
Incheon TP will establish a technology transition database (DB) and conduct a survey of the current status of automobile parts companies in the Incheon area to identify corporate demand and support policies for future vehicle transition, and provide future vehicle transition policies and technical information.
In addition, it plans to work with the Korea Automotive Technology Institute and the Future Automotive Industry Center to resolve difficulties faced by parts companies.
Previously, last year, Incheon TP signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Automotive Technology Institute to establish a comprehensive technical support system for parts companies, and jointly held corporate briefings and global electric vehicle parts teardown and technical analysis seminars. This year, it plans to conduct detailed technical analysis through the rental of electric vehicle parts to automobile parts companies.
