Selected Outstanding Case of Thrilling 'Acha Accident'... Heightened Awareness of Serious Accidents Increased
102 Cases Received in One Month
Case Discovery for the Entire Nation in the Second Half of the Year
The National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service held the first-ever "Near-Miss Incident Case Discovery Contest" in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to raise awareness about serious accidents and awarded outstanding cases.
From March 20, the agency received 102 near-miss incident cases from employees over the course of a month, and on the 8th announced that six outstanding cases (1 grand prize, 2 excellence awards, and 3 encouragement awards) were selected through two rounds of evaluation.
A "near-miss incident" refers to a situation where no accident occurred, but there was a risk of an accident due to personal negligence or facility defects. A representative from the agency stated, "We introduced the contest format to create a safe working environment, discover cases, and encourage voluntary participation from employees."
The grand prize case, which received the highest score from the judges, was about preventing forklift accidents that could occur at the public stockpile inspection site. The selected outstanding cases will be posted on the internal communication network to be shared with all employees, and the 102 submitted cases will be included in a near-miss incident casebook to be produced in the second half of the year.
