The opening ceremony marking the start of the '2023 Korea Together Festival' to revitalize domestic consumption will be held on the 9th in Daejeon.
On the morning of the 8th, Cho Joo-hyun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, held a briefing on the opening ceremony of the Together Festival with Lee Taek-gu, Deputy Mayor of Daejeon. The two visited Eunhaeng-dong Euneungjeongi Street, where the opening ceremony stage will be set up, to inspect overall event safety and jointly announced the event plan with the local merchants' association.
The opening ceremony of the Together Festival is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. on the 9th at the Sky Road in Eunhaeng-dong, Daejeon.
While major events of the Together Festival have been held in Seoul in the past, this year the opening ceremony will be held in Daejeon to further invigorate the regional economy. In particular, Euneungjeongi Street is called the Myeongdong of Daejeon, where various types of stores such as traditional markets, underground shopping malls, and department stores come together to create vibrancy.
Starting with the Together Festival campaign's opening video "All Citizens, Join Forces!", a media art video show wishing for mutual growth will illuminate the Sky Road.
On the way from the entrance of Sky Road to the opening ceremony stage, visitors can experience a lively live commerce filming site. They can also browse the 'Together Products (50 items)' selected as excellent SME products, and if they find something they like, they can purchase it via QR code.
The Daejeon city government will promote the 'Daejeon Love Card,' a local gift certificate launched this month, and hold discount events together with stores and merchants.
Additionally, a purchasing event involving all traditional markets and shopping districts nationwide will be held.
During the event period from the 9th to the 15th, 100 customers who purchase traditional market products containing the daily presented letters will be selected by lottery to receive Onnuri gift certificates worth 30,000 KRW. Fifty customers who participate for more than five days will receive Onnuri gift certificates worth 250,000 KRW.
Three hundred customers who purchase products from Century-old Stores and Century-old Small Merchants will be selected by lottery to receive prizes such as chicken or coffee exchange coupons.
In Busan and Daegu, joint promotional sales events for SME products will be held in connection with Shinsegae Department Store and Hyundai Department Store. Excellent local SME and small merchant products will also be sold at locations such as Osong Station in Chungbuk, Hanok Village in Jeonju, and Lake Park in Dongtan.
The Together Festival can be experienced at 12 regional events including the Taean Flower Expo in Chungnam, Ulsan Whale Festival, Jeonju Hanok Village Spring Market, and Yuseong Hot Spring Culture Festival.
