Exhibition on ‘Identity and Design of Busan Museum of Modern Art’ Held
4.29.~7.9. 5th Anniversary of the Opening
Busan Museum of Modern Art is celebrating its 5th anniversary by hosting the design competition "Busan Museum of Modern Art Identity and Design" from April 29 to July 9 in Exhibition Room 1 (1st floor above ground) of the museum.
This exhibition, organized to reorganize the museum's identity and design, introduces design proposals related to the museum identity (Museum Identity, hereafter M.I.) presented by four teams, who were finally selected from a total of 60 designer teams through a domestic competition.
▲ "ParkGirok" by Park Go-eun, Kim Ki-chang, and Jeong Sa-rok ▲ "ChiHorang Factory" by Kim Chi-wan, Shin Jae-ho, and Ok I-rang ▲ "Kang Moon-sik & Lee Han-beom" by Kang Moon-sik and Lee Han-beom ▲ "Formless Twins" by Shin Sang-ah and Lee Jae-jin. These four designer teams showcase various M.I. proposals in equally divided exhibition spaces, offering new experiences to visitors of the museum.
Visitors can vote for their favorite proposal among the four teams at a voting area set up on one side of the exhibition hall after viewing the proposals.
The museum will select one designer team to carry out the final project by incorporating the visitors' voting results along with diverse opinions from museum and design experts, entrusting them with the task of reorganizing the identity and design necessary for museum operations.
Kang Seung-wan, director of Busan Museum of Modern Art, stated, "Ultimately, the success of the exhibition depends not on the final product itself but on how seriously we all engage in the process of creating the museum's identity," and urged the art community and the general public to show great interest and participation in this exhibition.
The exhibition is free to visit from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the museum is closed every Monday. For more details, please refer to the Busan Museum of Modern Art website or contact by phone.
