Qualitas Semiconductor Submits Preliminary Review Application... Aiming for KOSDAQ Listing in the Second Half of the Year
Qualitas Semiconductor, the largest semiconductor IP development specialist company in Korea (CEO Kim Doo-ho), announced on the 4th that it submitted a preliminary review application to the Korea Exchange on the 3rd for listing on KOSDAQ. Qualitas Semiconductor will begin full-scale procedures aiming for a listing in the second half of the year. The lead underwriter is Korea Investment & Securities.
Qualitas Semiconductor is a semiconductor IP development specialist company founded in 2017 by IP design experts formerly from Samsung Electronics. The company operates a business of ultra-high-speed interface IP licensing and design services based on ultra-high-speed interconnect semiconductor design technology and ultra-fine semiconductor process design and verification technology. Its main front-end industries include fields requiring complex and massive data processing such as artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, data centers, and ultra-high-resolution displays.
Recently, with the explosive growth in the AI semiconductor field, the importance of ultra-high-speed interconnect technology in parallel processing and distributed processing to handle the vast computations required by artificial intelligence has been highlighted. Additionally, ultra-high-speed interconnect technology connecting autonomous driving, infotainment, display, and sensor technologies is gaining attention as an indispensable core infrastructure technology.
Since its early business days, Qualitas Semiconductor has established a solid collaborative relationship with Samsung Electronics Foundry and SoC development companies. Since 2019, it has been selected as a core IP partner in Samsung Electronics Foundry’s collaboration ecosystem ‘SAFE,’ securing cutting-edge design technology and IP mass production records, thereby being recognized as a company possessing highly reliable IP development technology.
A representative technology is SERDES, the core of interconnects. SERDES is a technology that collects low-speed parallel data inside the SoC (System on Chip), converts it into high-speed serial data, and transmits it at ultra-high speed through a single channel, making it a key infrastructure technology in SoC development.
Based on the largest scale of technology and human resources infrastructure in Korea, the company has secured advanced IP development technologies such as multi-level signaling SERDES. Through the development of high value-added IPs such as 100G-class SERDES, PCIe 6.0 PHY, and chiplet interfaces, it plans to secure a market position at the global top-tier level beyond being the best company domestically. This is a high entry barrier technology provided only by a few global top IP specialist companies such as Synopsys and Cadence worldwide.
For the technology-special listing, Qualitas Semiconductor received excellent evaluations by obtaining AA and A grades from the Korea Invention Promotion Association and NICE Information Service respectively in March. Its sales have more than doubled annually, reaching 10.8 billion KRW in 2022, and the number of employees has grown to 138 within six years since its founding, making it the largest domestic IP development specialist company.
Kim Doo-ho, CEO of Qualitas Semiconductor, stated, “The system semiconductor market is expected to continue growing due to the development of industries such as artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, and data centers,” and added, “We will continue to contribute to the establishment and strengthening of the competitiveness of Korea’s system semiconductor and foundry ecosystem through ongoing research and development.”
