Suspected Hit-and-Run Driver Found with Drugs, 50-Year-Old Man Arrested
A man who fled after causing a traffic accident was arrested on the spot for drug possession.
According to Jinju Police Station in Gyeongnam on the 4th, a report was received on the 3rd at 9:12 p.m. about a vehicle that hit a passenger car ahead on a road in Jungang-dong, Jinju City, and then fled the scene.
The police tracked the vehicle and apprehended Mr. A, in his 50s, but he was incoherent when questioned by the police.
Although a breathalyzer test showed no signs of alcohol, suspicion of drug use arose, and the narcotics team was dispatched to the scene to search the vehicle.
A bag inside the vehicle contained 0.6g of methamphetamine and a disposable syringe.
Mr. A had served a sentence for drug-related charges and was released last year; it is known that he possessed drugs during his probation period.
