The Korea Creative Content Agency and the Korean Cultural Center in Japan launched a special website on the 1st to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Korean Wave in Japan. It serves as a platform to promote various events to be held with local businesses.
The Korean Wave, which began with the drama "Winter Sonata," marks its 20th anniversary this year. More events than usual are scheduled, including a Korean drama OST concert, a 20th anniversary exhibition of the Korean Wave, a Korean drama touring screening, and a Korea-Japan content business forum.

To ensure successful events, the Korea Creative Content Agency and the Korean Cultural Center in Japan launched the "Korean Wave 20th Anniversary Executive Committee" at the Kokoro Awards last December. They are exploring ways to expand the Korean Wave with thirteen companies operating Korean content businesses locally, including SPO Entertainment, Pony Canyon, Pia, BS Fuji, and Across. Gong Hyung-sik, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Japan, and Lee Young-hoon, Head of the Japan Business Center at the Korea Creative Content Agency, stated, "Through close collaboration, we will further spread the Korean Wave, increase the added value of related content, and expand the market."
