Police Officer Who Should Catch Thieves... Dismissed for Stealing Wallet
An active police officer was dismissed after stealing a wallet containing millions of won by opening someone else's locker in a golf course changing room.
The Gwangju Seobu Police Station held a disciplinary committee and announced on the 3rd that Sergeant A (49), who belongs to a local district unit and is accused of theft, was dismissed.
Types of disciplinary actions for public officials are divided into severe punishments such as dismissal, removal, demotion, suspension, and light punishments such as pay reduction and reprimand.
Sergeant A is accused of opening someone else's locker in a changing room at a golf course in Nampyeong-eup, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do, on the afternoon of December 13 last year and stealing a wallet containing about 7 million won.
Sergeant A later contacted the golf course claiming he found the wallet, but the wallet owner had already reported it lost.
