An incident occurred at the Seoul National University cafeteria where a man in his 70s assaulted a current student.
On the 2nd, multiple domestic media outlets reported that the Seoul Gwanak Police Station has booked and is investigating Professor Emeritus A of Seoul National University on charges of assault. The man in his 70s was confirmed to be a Professor Emeritus of Seoul National University during the police investigation.
Mr. A is accused of assaulting a man in his 20s, Mr. B, at around 1:40 p.m. on the 29th of last month at the student union cafeteria of Seoul National University.
At the time, Mr. A confronted student B, accusing him of cutting in line while waiting in the cafeteria. During this process, Mr. A pushed Mr. B, who fell and hit his head on the floor. Mr. B was then transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Another student who witnessed the assault reported to the police, saying, "An older man hit a young student in the student union cafeteria and caused a head injury." Mr. A was arrested by the police, questioned, and booked without detention.
A police official stated, "It appears there was a dispute while waiting in line," and added, "We plan to summon both parties for investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances of the incident."
