Gyeongnam National University Receives Scholarship Fund of 9.6 Million KRW from Singwang Church
Gyeongnam National University received a scholarship donation of 9.6 million KRW from Shingwang Church on the 3rd at the main building's large conference room.
Located in Masanhappo-gu, Changwon Special City, Shingwang Church has been consistently providing scholarships since 2010 to support the dreams and futures of Gyeongnam National University students who will grow into outstanding talents.
This year's scholarship, marking the 14th time, was awarded to eight students, each receiving 1.2 million KRW. These students were recommended by professors from Gyeongnam National University who attend the church: Kwon Jong-il (Department of English Language and Literature), Kim Jae-gu (Department of Sports Science), Jeong Byeong-cheol (Department of Korean Language Education), Cha Mun-ho (Department of Music Education), Jeong Joon-sik (Department of Trade and Logistics), Kim Seong-eon (Department of Police Science), Yoon Tae-young (Department of Security and Protection), and Kim Se-yoon (Department of New Materials Engineering).
Senior Pastor Jin Chang-seol said, “I hope that the students receiving the scholarships today will cherish this meeting and connection and grow into outstanding talents who can continue to perform good deeds for many people.”
Student Affairs Director Kim Jae-gu expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank Senior Pastor Jin Chang-seol and Shingwang Church for their long-standing love and warmth toward the local community and their continuous scholarship support to Gyeongnam National University.” He added, “We will spare no effort to support all Gyeongnam National University students in achieving their dreams and goals and growing into local talents.”

The scholarship award ceremony was attended by Senior Pastor Jin Chang-seol, Pastor Ryu Dong-ho, Elder Kim Jong-hae, Elder Ha Man-su from Shingwang Church, as well as Kim Jae-gu, Student Affairs Director of Gyeongnam National University, Lee Young-joo, Director of Public Relations, Jeong Seong-yoon, Head of Student Support Team, and professors and scholarship recipients who are members of Shingwang Church.
