Korean Air Unveils Wrapped Aircraft to Support Busan World Expo Bid
Korean Air announced on the 3rd that it held the ‘2030 Busan World Expo Korean Air Special Aircraft Unveiling Event’ at the aircraft hangar of Incheon International Airport.
At the event, a large number of officials attended, including Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, Chairman Cho Won-tae of Hanjin Group, Co-Chairman Choi Tae-won, Jang Sung-min, Future Strategy Planning Officer of the Presidential Office, and Woo Ki-hong, CEO of Korean Air.
Chairman Cho Won-tae said in his welcoming speech, “It is a great honor to be able to play a role in attracting the Busan World Expo, which will not only showcase the status of the Republic of Korea to the world but also serve as an opportunity for a new leap forward,” adding, “Korean Air will fully utilize its network as a global airline to fulfill its role as an ambassador for promoting the Busan World Expo.”

View original imagePrime Minister Han Duck-soo also mentioned, “I sincerely thank Chairman Cho Won-tae of Hanjin Group and all employees for their active leadership in attracting the Expo.” He continued, “The unveiled Korean Air special aircraft will showcase K-content that captivates the world and the competitiveness of the Republic of Korea at a glance,” emphasizing, “From now on, I hope it will travel around the world and convey our passionate desire to host the Expo to our global neighbors.”
To support the bid for the Busan World Expo, Korean Air deployed a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and adorned it with BLACKPINK, Korea’s representative artists with global recognition.
BLACKPINK is an artist recognized for their solid global presence and musical capabilities, currently conducting a world tour targeting an audience of approximately 1.5 million. In March, Korean Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with YG Entertainment to establish a strategic partnership and became the official airline sponsor of BLACKPINK’s world tour.
Immediately after unveiling the wrapped aircraft, representatives from various sectors attending the event, along with Korean Air’s cabin crew and flight crew representatives, took commemorative photos in front of the wrapped aircraft, wishing for the successful bid of the Busan World Expo.

The Busan World Expo promotional wrapped aircraft is scheduled to start its role in promoting the Expo bid by flying worldwide based on Korean Air’s global network, beginning with flight KE901 from Incheon to Paris on the 4th.
