'SW Talent Development' Hyundai Motor Group Opens Recruitment for Softier Boot Camp Participants
Hyundai Motor Group is accelerating efforts to nurture and secure outstanding domestic software talent to strengthen its research and development capabilities in SDV (Software-Defined Vehicle).
On the 3rd, Hyundai Motor Group announced that it is recruiting participants for the 'Softeer Boot Camp 2023' until the 16th of this month. The Softeer Boot Camp is a recruitment-linked training program that directly cultivates capable new software talents and secures excellent trainees early.
'Softeer' is a compound word of Software and Engineer, also carrying the meaning of a pioneer (Frontier) in the vehicle software field. Hyundai Motor Group operates various programs under the Softeer brand to strengthen software capabilities and actively communicate with related industries, including beta tester recruitment and in-house programming festivals.
This boot camp involves Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, and Hyundai AutoEver. In the previous boot camp, about 40 people were recruited in the Web development sector. This camp has expanded its scale. Participants will be selected in four sectors?▲Web Development ▲Mobile Development ▲Service Planning ▲Design?with about 100 people in total.
This boot camp selects participants solely based on basic competency evaluations for each job category without a separate interview process. From July to August, an 8-week training program will be provided to enhance their capabilities.
The training is completely free of charge. During the training period, high-spec laptops and other equipment will be provided, and outstanding graduates will be rewarded. Participants will learn collaboration skills and practical process awareness through team projects following one month of theoretical education.
Hyundai Motor Group also offers opportunities for employment conversion to boot camp participants. All trainees will undergo recruitment interviews in September. Those who pass the interviews can join Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, or Hyundai AutoEver.
The eligibility for this boot camp is students graduating in August this year or February next year from a four-year university (bachelor’s degree or higher).
Jin Eun-sook, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group’s ICT Headquarters, said, “This is a great opportunity to receive various advice from instructors with extensive practical development experience on collaboration methods among actual software job roles and career planning for each position,” adding, “We will continue to expand activities to nurture excellent domestic software talent.”
On the 24th of this month, Hyundai Motor Group will also hold the '1st Softeer Tech Meetup' at Townhall Cosiety in Pangyo for developers currently working at other companies or students majoring in related fields. This event will include an introduction to Hyundai Motor Group’s back-end development status, developer networking events, and recruitment consultations.
