Ulsan City will launch a ‘one-stop’ service in May to handle comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax simultaneously.
Ulsan City announced that it will operate the ‘2023 Ulsan City Comprehensive Income Tax and Individual Local Income Tax Joint Filing Desk’ from the 1st to the 31st, in line with the National Tax Service’s schedule for filing and paying income tax for comprehensive income tax subjects.
The desks will be set up at tax offices and district/county offices in the Ulsan area. Staff from the districts/counties and tax offices will be dispatched to each other to provide taxpayers with the convenience of filing and paying both comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax in one place.
Taxpayers subject to comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax can choose to file and pay electronically, in person, or by mail at the joint filing desk in their jurisdiction by May 31 (June 30 for businesses subject to faithful reporting confirmation) this year.
Among the fully pre-filled filing subjects, elderly persons aged 65 or older or persons with disabilities can visit the joint filing desk at any tax office or district/county regardless of their address to file and pay.
Fully pre-filled filing subjects are processed by simply paying according to the guidance without having to prepare the tax return themselves.
Export companies and taxpayers affected by forest fires can also file and pay at the joint filing desk in their jurisdiction. Through tax administration support, the payment deadline for both comprehensive income tax (national tax) and individual local income tax can be extended to August 31.
The extension method requires the taxpayer to apply for an extension of the comprehensive income tax payment deadline, and once approved by the tax office, the payment deadline for the individual local income tax is automatically extended as well.
