‘General Hong Festival Reunion’ ... Continuing the ‘Hometown Love Donation Program’
Participation in the Hometown Love Donation Program by natives from Uiryeong, Gyeongnam, continues.
At the recent ‘48th Hongui General Festival Hometown Reunion,’ over 60 members from four hometown associations gathered to support the development of their hometown and contribute to the local economy by joining the Hometown Love Donation Program.

At the event, Jeong Young-man, a member of the National Uiryeong County Hometown Association, expressed his love for his hometown by donating the highest amount of 5 million KRW to the Hometown Love Donation Fund.
Additionally, the Seoul Uiryeong County Hometown Association donated 12 million KRW, the Changwon Uiryeong County Hometown Association donated 2 million KRW, and the Changwon City Hall Uiryeong County Hometown Association donated 3 million KRW, raising a total of 22 million KRW for the county, demonstrating the passionate interest of the natives in the Hometown Love Donation Program.
County Governor Oh Tae-wan expressed his gratitude, saying, “It is reassuring that natives living elsewhere always think of Uiryeong closely and work hard for its development,” and added, “The donations will be used carefully to make Uiryeong a better place to live.”

The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW to local governments other than their registered address and receive thank-you gifts and tax deductions. The county plans to implement projects aimed at improving residents’ welfare starting in 2024 using the funds raised.
